ASFAR opens Gamra Mountain Resort in Al Baha

PIF-owned ASFAR inaugurated Gamra Mountain Resort in Al Baha, according to an announcement dated 20 September 2026. The destination occupies more than 21,000 square metres and includes 30 mountain-inspired rooms and suites.

What the announcement covers

The project combines ASFAR’s investment approach with private sector partner IHCC and hospitality operator Mantis, part of Accor. The announcement emphasizes the region’s landscape, climate, heritage and local products as part of the visitor experience.

The opening is a regional tourism story as well as a hospitality asset milestone. Its proposed wider contribution includes local sourcing and links with community organizations. Unlike a development announcement for a future resort, this update concerns an inauguration, while the longer-term economic impact will depend on its subsequent operation.
