Brookfield announced approximately $2 billion at the first close of Brookfield Middle East Partners on 27 July 2026. PIF is an anchor investor in the private equity fund, alongside other global and regional institutional partners.

What the announcement covers

The fund targets businesses across Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East, including financial and business services, industrials, technology and healthcare. According to the announcement, it aims to allocate half of its investment to Saudi Arabia. Brookfield is committing $500 million.

The partnership adds another route for institutional capital and operating expertise to reach businesses in the region. The figures describe the fund’s first close and investment intentions; they do not mean that the entire amount has already been invested into individual Saudi companies.
